Breathedge 2 Foreman Test
Here are the three answers, in question order. Match the wording, not the position — the options are shuffled between saves, so "pick the second one" will fail you.
| Question | Correct answer |
|---|---|
| Work should be done… | Fast and cheap as f*** |
| A hard hat must be worn when… | The goddamn inspector shows up |
| Meetings should be held… | Every f***ing hour |
The answers are censored here the way FandomWire, GameRant and Neoseeker present them; in game they are spelled out in full.
The rule behind the test
Every answer that sounds like a responsible supervisor is wrong. The Foreman is not testing safety policy, he is testing whether you talk like a worn-out worker with nobody watching. Pick the cynical line every time.
One trap deserves its own warning: on the meetings question, "never" is wrong. It sounds like the joke answer, which is exactly why players choose it. The correct answer is that meetings should be held every hour.
For reference, here are the wrong options that read as sensible, taken from a recorded run where the player failed all three:
| Question | Trap answer |
|---|---|
| Work should be done… | Properly and precisely |
| A hard hat must be worn when… | When work involving a risk of collapse is underway |
| Meetings should be held… | Never |
Where to find the Foreman
The Foreman is a sparking robot you run into while repairing the service warmers, on the way to the third antenna and the memorial area. Two guides describe the spot slightly differently, and both descriptions help:
- On a yellow-painted construction platform in the industrial debris field, surrounded by scrapped station modules and crane wreckage — the platform is the clearest landmark
- Beside a frozen heater; note that not every heating unit sits along the main yellow pipe, including a few near the train station
They are probably the same place. The whole point of the Foreman is the warmer next to him: it is the one warmer only he can fix, which is why the side quest exists.
Approach him and a Run Setup prompt appears, which starts the three questions.
Repairing the Foreman first
You cannot take the test until he works. The repair needs:
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Metal | 4 |
| Electronics | 3 |
That is the requirement shown on the repair panel itself. If you have seen figures like Metal ×14 or Electronics ×5 elsewhere, those come from misreading the interface: the panel shows carried / required, so 15/4 means fifteen in your pack and four needed.
One extra step, from Neoseeker: discharge the electric current with M2 before repairing. It is the likely explanation for players who have the materials and still cannot start the repair, so it is worth trying if you are stuck.
Also from FandomWire, worth planning around: the temperature around the Foreman drops sharply once he is repaired, with a real risk of freezing within a few minutes. Bring cold protection or know your exit before you start.
What happens when you pass
Answer all three correctly and the Foreman launches into a tirade at his absent workers — the comedy payoff — and the quest completes. He then repairs the service warmer beside him, and with the warmer running, the surrounding ice melts and the robots gather round it. That melt is what opens the route onward, which is why this "optional" side quest is worth doing on the way through rather than saving for later.
Progress after the warmer leads to the antenna repair, which asks for a fresh battery, Refined Metal and Tech Bit components.
If you answer wrong
One wrong answer ends the test immediately. There is no other penalty beyond not completing it — no damage, nothing lost. This is from FandomWire and matches recorded play, where the failed attempt simply ended and the player was able to try again with the comedic answers.
Because the options shuffle, do not memorise positions between attempts. Read all three lines each time.
Quick checklist
- Carry Metal ×4 and Electronics ×3 before you go
- Bring cold protection — it gets cold once he is running
- Find the sparking robot on the yellow platform, next to the frozen warmer
- Discharge with M2 if the repair will not start
- Repair, then take the test via Run Setup
- Answer by wording: fast and cheap → when the inspector shows up → every hour
Gathering the repair materials first
Metal ×4 and Electronics ×3 are both common, but not always where you happen to be standing:
- Metal — large orange debris chunks, plus barrels and canisters, all broken down with Scrap
- Electronics — inside panels, and inside the floating televisions and washing machines scattered through the debris field; some come free, some need Scrap
Grab a surplus on the way. Being one Electronics short in a region that is actively freezing you is a miserable way to learn the requirement.
Where the Foreman fits in the main story
He is optional, but he sits inside a mandatory chain. During the Depot stage the story asks
you to Raise Ambient Temperature to 100% by repairing service warmers, and one warmer in
that set cannot be repaired by you at all. That is his. So while the side quest is skippable
in principle, the warmer behind it is part of how the area opens up — the ice around it melts
once it runs.
The walkthrough covers the warmer chain and what comes after it.
After the test
Once the warmer is running you are back on the antenna work, which wants a fresh battery, Refined Metal and Tech Bit components. Techbits come out of damaged robots and signs with the Twister, and Refined Metal is four Metal combined — so the shopping list for the next step starts the moment the Foreman stops shouting.
