Breathedge 2 Walkthrough
Chapter 1 of Breathedge 2 runs in one line: get the crashed train working, build the Three Antennas, warm up the Depot, triangulate the signal jammer, then break into its facility and pull the jammer out. Everything else in the Early Access build hangs off that spine. If you are lost, find the step below that matches your last completed objective and read forward.
This page covers the Early Access build as of September 2026. Locations and objectives can change between patches.
The main story in order
- Station Outskirts — restore power to the crashed train
- The radio operator's task expands into the Three Antennas chain
Collect Antenna Debris 0/2- New Coordinates Detected — the story leaves the starting station
Raise Cold Protection to 100- The Depot —
Raise Ambient Temperature to 100%by repairing Service Warmers - Three strong jamming readings, triangulated
- The jammer facility: power, entry, the interior mechanical section
- Fill the shuttle with alkaline solution, retrieve the jammer
- Activate the jammer, restore comms — Chapter 1 ends
Getting the train running
You start in Station Outskirts with the wrecked train as your nearest base. The first job is power: follow the cabling outside the train until you find the External Module, install a battery, then return to the train and continue its sequence. Once power is on, the frozen systems begin to thaw and the starting area becomes properly usable.
Do not treat the surrounding wreckage as optional scenery — plastic is everywhere in this region (piping, suitcases, loose interior junk) and you will want a stock of it before you leave.
The Three Antennas chain
With the train alive, the story turns to communications. What starts as a single radio
task expands into the Three Antennas chain, which strings together damaged platform
equipment, a beacon, and an old government probe. Your log then adds
Collect Antenna Debris 0/2. Both fragments are small, and this is the step where people
lose the most time — sweep methodically rather than circling the same open space.
Finishing the antenna work triggers New Coordinates Detected, which moves the main line away from the starting station.
Raise Cold Protection to 100
The first hard environmental wall is temperature. The log asks you to
Raise Cold Protection to 100 before you can continue. Head back to the train and deal
with cold protection there. Hit 100 and move on — there is no reward for pushing the
value higher at this point, and the story gates on the number, not on perfection.
The Depot and the Service Warmers
Following the new coordinates changes the map region to DEPOT. The area objective is
Raise Ambient Temperature to 100%, and you raise it by repairing a series of
Service Warmers. Each repaired warmer lifts the usable temperature in the area, and
some of them melt ice that was blocking a route, so a warmer you cannot reach yet is
often gated behind one you can.
Two habits pay off here: talk to NPCs before you loot the area, because rewards are often buried in dialogue, and top up at the shuttle bay — food and water are stocked there, and the charging posts refill tool batteries for free.
After the Depot, Find a way to the antenna reappears in the log. This is a later story
objective, not a leftover from the early antenna chain, so do not backtrack to the
starting region looking for it.
Triangulating the jammer
The jammer cannot be found from a single reading. You need three strong jamming readings; the third one completes the triangulation and the system works backwards to the building the interference is coming from. The route runs deeper into cold structures, and the direction robots travel through the cryogel is a reliable signpost.
Inside the jammer facility
The facility does not simply open. First restore its external power and work through the entry system; once communications come back, the door information is given to you by the story — you are not expected to hunt for a handwritten code outside. Inside there is gravity and the section becomes an indoor mechanical sequence. The Camerabot accepts the "repair crew" line, so treat it as a checkpoint rather than a fight.
Deeper in, the route forks between a Spraytron interaction and a sealed airlock. One Spraytron prompt asks for a higher level, but that does not lock the whole route — the other branch has you recover a lost head and update an identity file, and that identity opens the airlock door.
The shuttle cannot reach the jammer directly either. The chain becomes
Find the signal jammer → Fill the shuttle with alkaline solution → Retrieve the jammer:
use the Spraytron on the parasitic growth near the opening, collect the alkaline
substance, and fill the shuttle's tank.
Back inside, opening the control panel starts the cooling system's purge routine. This step seals the airlock and adds a manual airlock restart to your task list. Fatigue becomes a real problem around here, so sleep before you commit to the combat stretch.
The Early Access ending
The last section is a parasite clean-out until the infected host exposes the signal jammer itself. Retrieving it is not the final beat — activation is:
Watch the circular sensor, wait for the reading to settle and turn green, then hit it with the crowbar. Swinging while the reading is still moving only sets you back.
Multiple community walkthroughs describe that timing independently, so it is a real mechanic and not one player's superstition.
Activation restores communications and Chapter 1 closes out. You receive Mary's
coordinates 779014-EE5, the crew realises the transmission may have exposed their
position, and the screen shows Thanks for playing Early Access!. The save is not closed
off: the map stays open and you can keep clearing side quests, and there is no Chapter 2 to
unlock. Those coordinates are narrative setup, not a place you can travel to in this build.
How long is Chapter 1?
Two figures are in circulation and they disagree slightly:
| Figure | Source |
|---|---|
| About 8-10 hours for Chapter 1 | A community walkthrough FAQ |
| 10+ hours of content at launch | Steam |
The gap is most likely side content: the Steam figure covers the launch build as a whole, not the main line alone. Plan for roughly 8-10 hours of story and longer if you clear side quests along the way.
If you think you are stuck
- A door will not open. You need a pry tool, restored power, or a code from a terminal nearby — check those three before assuming a bug.
- You cannot find the objective. Check tool charge, oxygen and carry weight first. A large share of "stuck" reports are a tool with a flat battery.
- A task reads as vague. Open the in-game Encyclopedia. The developers point players there in their own FAQ, and it is the first-party answer to most "what is this thing" questions.
- The Attendant side quest is eating your time. The body and head are easy to spot; the missing arm is not. It sits right beside the early route, but it is a side quest — do not let it stall the main line.
