Snowman Parts and the Leader's Statue
Three collectible side quests sit close together in the Outskirts, and all three pay a permanent stat bonus rather than a cosmetic badge. That is the reason to do them early:
| Achievement | What it is | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Now That's a Snowman! | Build the snowman from five parts | Cold protection +5 |
| Leader | Restore the leader's statue with its broken pieces | Air storage +20 |
| Attendant | Repair the broken attendant robot | Physical protection +2 |
Cold protection and air storage are the two stats the early game gates on, so these are not completionist filler — they make the cold protection wall and long excursions easier.
The snowman and the Attendant are two different side quests. They are often confused. The snowman is a built object; the Attendant is a damaged robot that needs her own body parts. They have separate achievements and separate locations.
Snowman: getting there is the hard part
Fewer than one player in ten has this achievement, and the reason is not that the parts are scattered — it is that people cannot find the snowman at all. Once you are standing at it, all five parts are visible in the immediate area.
The snowman sits just below the service warmer that the Foreman robot repairs, along the yellow pipes that run underneath the station. It becomes reachable during the raise- the-ambient-temperature stage of the main story.
The route, step by step:
- Drop down from the platform
- Follow the yellow pipes
- Around the middle, slightly to the left, look for a glowing red ring
- At the red ring, slip out through the break in the middle pipe
- Once outside, look up — there is a white derelict machine above you
- Using it as your reference: turn left first, then right
- The snowman is directly ahead
The glowing red ring and the white derelict machine are the two landmarks you cannot mistake. If you have not passed the red ring, you are not on the right stretch of pipe.
Then: repair the gas lamp and melt the ice, collect the five parts around the platform area, and place them on the snowman.
Leader's statue
You come across a large statue missing pieces. The pieces are floating rocks scattered through the surrounding debris, each with a different colour and appearance, and you have to bring them all back to the statue. There are six of them.
They are not anonymous rocks: each piece is a facial feature or a limb, which is far easier to hunt for than "six coloured stones". They can be found in this order:
| Piece | Notes |
|---|---|
| Eyeball | Found alongside the finger |
| Finger | Same spot as the eyeball |
| Ear | Nearby |
| Mouth | Easy to mistake for the nose until it is placed |
| Nose | The last one in that run |
Bring them all and the Leader achievement gives air storage +20 — the single most useful early bonus on this page, because it directly extends how far you can travel between refills.
Attendant
The Attendant is a broken service robot near the train station. Her missing body parts — head, torso and arm — are found in the wreckage around her, and you assemble them back onto the base.
The parts are near the body, and the arm is the one people cannot find. Guide positions have sent people to the wrong rocks, so none are listed here. If you are burning time on it, leave it — it is a side quest, not a story blocker, and it will still be there later.
Reward: physical protection +2.
Why the rewards matter
Breathedge 2 attaches a stat bonus to every achievement, visible on the in-game Achievements page. Across this page and the door code that is:
| Achievement | Reward |
|---|---|
| Hacker (door code) | Max health +10 |
| Now That's a Snowman! | Cold protection +5 |
| Leader (statue) | Air storage +20 |
| Attendant | Physical protection +2 |
| Weird toilet | Cold protection +10 |
| Safe content | Radiation protection +10 |
Clearing puzzles is the cheapest character progression in the game. Everything on this page is doable in the region you are already in during Chapter 1.
Other side quests in the same area
The recorded 100% run for the Early Access build lists seventeen side quests in Chapter 1, several of which are not covered on this wiki yet: Thronehauler, Sculpture (a separate quest from the Leader's Statue), Romantic Spot, Boosters, the Playground dolls, Oxygen Nests and the Repair the Antenna fragments. If you are hunting achievements systematically, those are the ones to look for beyond this page.
Covered here already: the foreman test, the ticket booth, and Chuck's Taxi.
The other Chapter 1 side quests
A recorded 100% run of the Early Access build works through seventeen side quests in this region. The three on this page are the ones people search for; here is the full set, so you can tell what you have missed:
Repairing Train · Attendant · Repair the Antenna · Loudspeaker · Public Oxygen Station · Ticket booth · Playground · Thronehauler · Sculpture · Romantic Spot · Foreman · Oxygen Nests · Boosters · Leader's Statue · Snowman · Chuck's Taxi · Weird toilet
Two notes on that list. Sculpture and Leader's Statue are different quests — every text guide covers only the statue, so the sculpture catches people out. And the Playground dolls (four of them, hidden in a locker) award radiation protection +10 through the Safe content achievement, making them one of the better-value collectibles in the chapter.
Doing all three in one trip
The snowman, the statue and the Foreman are effectively the same location. An efficient order:
- Repair the Foreman and pass his test — the warmer melts the ice around it
- Drop below the warmer for the snowman: follow the pipes, red ring, break in the pipe, white machine, left then right
- Collect the five snowman parts in the immediate area and build it
- Sweep the surrounding debris for the statue's six pieces — eyeball, finger, ear, mouth, nose and the remaining one
- Repair the loudspeaker while you are here for the oxygen
That sequence pays out cold protection +5 and air storage +20 in a single visit, both of which make the rest of the region cheaper to traverse.
