Breathedge 2 PS5 Release Date
There is no Breathedge 2 PS5 release date. The game is announced for PlayStation 5 and has a store page you can wishlist, but PlayStation's own listing says the release date is to be determined. No date, no price, no pre-order.
That is the honest answer as of September 3, 2026. Below is what the listing actually shows, why the "2027" figure floating around is not a date, and what you can do now.
What the PlayStation Store page shows
The concept page on the PlayStation Store is a placeholder, and it says so plainly:
| Field | What it says |
|---|---|
| Status | Announced |
| Release date | To be determined |
| Price | None shown |
| Buy or pre-order | Not available — wishlist only |
| Publisher | HypeTrain Digital |
This is the PlayStation Store's own listing. Game8 says the same thing in different words: announced for PlayStation 5, date unannounced.
Why you keep seeing "2027"
A 2027 release window is circulating for Breathedge 2 on PS5. It is not a release date, and it did not come from the developers.
The page it comes from had not caught up with reality: it stated that no sequel had been announced at all, which was already wrong — Breathedge 2 launched into Early Access on August 31, 2026. The 2027 figure in that piece was a hypothetical: if a sequel were announced later, a typical indie studio timeline would put it around 2027 or beyond.
That is a guess about a game that had already shipped. Do not plan around it.
So when could the PS5 version realistically land?
Nobody has committed to anything, but the PC roadmap sets the earliest sensible boundary. In their Steam Early Access FAQ, the developers expect roughly 16-20 months of Early Access from the August 31, 2026 start, which points at a 1.0 build somewhere in late 2027 to the first half of 2028.
Console versions of Early Access survival games usually follow the finished PC build rather than racing it. That makes a PS5 launch before the PC 1.0 unlikely, and one after it plausible — but this is reasoning from the official Early Access range, not a schedule anyone has published. If you see a specific PS5 day and month anywhere, check whether the source is Sony, RedRuins Softworks or HypeTrain Digital. So far, none of them has given one.
What you can do right now
- Wishlist it on the PlayStation Store. That is the only action the page supports, and it is how you get told when a date appears.
- Play it on PC if you have one. The Steam version is out and covers Chapter 1 — see the release date page for price and content.
- Do not buy a key from a reseller claiming a PS5 edition. There is no purchasable PS5 product, so there is nothing legitimate to sell.
PS5 versus the other consoles
Xbox is marginally further along in paperwork terms — a Microsoft Store page exists — but it is equally unbuyable, and the game is not on Game Pass. Nintendo Switch has nothing at all: no listing, no announcement.
| Platform | Listing | Date | Can you buy it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Concept page, wishlist enabled | To be determined | No |
| Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One | Store page, not purchasable | None announced | No |
| Nintendo Switch | None | None | No |
| PC (Steam) | Full store page | Out August 31, 2026 | Yes |
Details for each: Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
One thing the PS5 page does tell us
The PlayStation listing carries the ESRB note about online interactions not being rated. That is boilerplate attached to the storefront entry and not a hint of multiplayer — every source that describes how the game plays, including Microsoft's own capability tags, lists it as single player. The multiplayer page goes through that evidence.
Signs the console version is genuinely in progress
Nothing here is a date, but the groundwork is visible in the PC build's own metadata:
- The Steam listing records full controller support, and specifically DualSense and DualShock controller support. A PC game does not need DualSense-specific handling unless someone is thinking about PlayStation.
- Sony's storefront has an entry at all. Concept pages are created by publishers, not generated automatically.
- Microsoft's listing already names both Xbox generations as targets, which suggests console work is scoped rather than hypothetical.
Read together: a PS5 version is being planned, and the schedule is simply not fixed enough to announce.
What happened with the first game
Breathedge 1 gives a sense of how this publisher handles console releases, with one important caveat — the first game was a finished product when it ported, and this one is not.
| Platform | Breathedge 1 release | Gap after PC |
|---|---|---|
| PC (Windows) | February 25, 2021 | — |
| PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch | April 6, 2021 | About 6 weeks |
| PlayStation 5 | February 25, 2022 | A full year |
Note where PS5 sits in that list: it was the last platform to get the first game, a year behind PC and ten months behind the other consoles. If that pattern repeats, PS5 will not be the first console Breathedge 2 reaches.
What about the ESRB note on the page?
The PlayStation listing carries a standard notice that online interactions are not rated by the ESRB. That is boilerplate attached to storefront entries and is not evidence of an online mode — every description of how this game plays, including Microsoft's own capability tag, says single player. See the multiplayer page.
