Breathedge 2 on Nintendo Switch

Breathedge 2 is not on Nintendo Switch, and it has not been announced for it. Nintendo's own catalogue has no entry for the game — not a release, not a placeholder, nothing.

That last detail is the useful one. Sony and Microsoft have both created listings for Breathedge 2. Nintendo has not, which puts Switch furthest back of the three consoles.

The evidence: Nintendo's catalogue

Searching Nintendo's official product catalogue for "breathedge" returns exactly one result:

TitleReleasePlatform
Breathedge (the first game)April 6, 2021Nintendo Switch

The sequel is absent entirely. Game8 also states plainly that Breathedge 2 has not been announced for Nintendo Switch Online, and the Steam listing records the game as Windows only — no Mac, no Linux, no consoles.

How the three consoles compare

PlatformListing statusDateBuyable
Xbox One / Series X|SStore page exists, marked out of stock, no priceNone announcedNo
PlayStation 5Concept page, status "Announced"To be determinedNo
Nintendo SwitchNo page at allNoneNo

A placeholder page is not a release date, but it is a signal that the platform work is on somebody's schedule. Switch has not reached even that stage.

More detail on the other two: Xbox, PS5.

Does the first game's history tell us anything?

A little. Breathedge 1 did come to Switch on April 6, 2021, roughly six weeks after its PC release, alongside PS4 and both Xbox generations. So the publisher has shipped this series on Switch before, and the hardware is clearly not a blocker for the concept.

But that is first-game history, not a Breathedge 2 commitment. The sequel launched in Early Access rather than as a finished release, and console versions normally wait for the finished build. With Early Access expected to run roughly 16-20 months from August 2026, any Switch port would be a long way out even if it were announced tomorrow.

A search term worth untangling

If you searched something like "breathedge switch 2", be aware that two different questions share almost the same words:

They get mixed together constantly in search results. If you are looking for performance or review information, you are almost certainly after the second one.

What to do instead

The first game is on Switch, and that is what most results are about

Breathedge — the original — released on Nintendo Switch on April 6, 2021, about six weeks after its PC version, alongside PS4 and both Xbox generations. It is still listed, still purchasable, and it is the only Breathedge entry in Nintendo's catalogue.

If you want this series on Nintendo hardware today, that is the version to buy. It is finished rather than Early Access, and the sequel is a direct continuation of its humour rather than a mechanical sequel you need to prepare for.

Why a Switch version is further out than the others

Three factors stack against a near-term Switch release:

  1. No listing. Sony and Microsoft opened placeholder pages; Nintendo has nothing, so no platform paperwork has surfaced.
  2. Early Access. The PC build is expected to spend roughly 16-20 months in Early Access from August 2026. Console ports normally follow a finished build.
  3. Scope. The sequel's starting region is described as far larger than anything in the first game, which is exactly the kind of change that makes a port to the least powerful platform the hardest one to schedule.

None of that rules a Switch version out. The publisher has shipped this series on Switch before, which is a genuine point in its favour — it simply has not started this time.

Is it on Nintendo Switch Online?

No, and it has not been announced for it. Nintendo Switch Online's catalogue is a separate arrangement from a regular store release, and neither exists for this game.
